The Anglican Parish of Welwyn in the Diocese of St Albans in Hertfordshire, England is organised as part of a Team Ministry which covers four parishes, the Parish of Welwyn and Woolmer Green, the Parish of Ayot St. Peter, the Parish of All Saint's, Datchworth and the Parish of St Peter's, Tewin. The five churches are dedicated to:- St. Mary in Welwyn, St. Michael in Woolmer Green, St. Peter in Ayot, All Saints in Datchworth and St Peter in Tewin. We share many of our resources, including the clergy, and meet together for special services and occasions during the year. St Mary's and St Michael's, being within the same Parish of Welwyn, also share a three part vision of worship, the family and mission. Our location is around twenty two miles (thirty six kilometres) north of London and more geographical details are available on the village pages of this web site.
We hope this web site will be interesting and supply information and encouragement. If you live locally you will be most welcome at any of our services or other events described in these pages. If you used to live around here and have now moved away we hope this web site will help you to keep in touch. A web site can only provide one way contact. If you want to make a personal contact please send an email and we will do our best to respond quickly. Alternatively the contact pages provide specific names and email addresses. For up to date news about St Mary's and St Michael's see the Weekly Notices pages. Also consult the Welwyn Magazine which is published monthly by St Mary's and St Michael's for the congregations and communities in Welwyn, Ayot St Peter and surrounding areas. The Welwyn Magazine is published by the Anglican church but we hope it will serve the needs of those of other denominations and faiths and of those who hold none. | ||
