The Purpose of the Gift Aid Software

The Gift Aid system allows tax to be reclaimed by charities on all donations where the donor pays tax and makes a declaration that he or she wishes the charity to reclaim that tax. In order to reclaim the tax the charity must keep detailed records of both donors and their donations such that the payment can be traced from the donor to the charity’s bank.

The application is designed to help maintain these records and enable the charity to reclaim tax from the Inland Revenue.

What the Gift Aid Software provides

  • Stores the Charity’s Bank details to which donations are normally made

  • Records donor names and addresses together with a record of the last Gift Aid declaration (as required by the Inland Revenue).

  • Envelope scheme numbers linked to the donor concerned.

  • A record of donations made by each donor together with the fund or purpose for which the donation was given.
