Children are warmly welcomed at St Mary’s and
we look forward to meeting you & your family.

The following Sunday morning Junior Church groups start at 9.30am and take place in
Church House on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th Sundays of the month.

Each group session lasts approximately 40 minutes and children & leaders re-join
the church service before the Eucharist.

Crèche: for pre-school children

A safe, supervised environment, with age-appropriate toys and like-minded little ones!
Parents & carers are very welcome to stay and play or return to the church service at any time.

Sparklers: for Key Stage 1 children

A warm, friendly group where Bible stories are introduced and explored.
Sessions are engaging, creative and incorporate song, drama & art.

Ignite:for Key Stages 2 & 3

A welcoming, fun group where everyone belongs and good friendships develop.
Questions about Christianity & faith are explored through discussion, Bible study,
drama, art & games.

The following Sunday group, The Hub, runs from 7.00 until 8.30pm in Church House every
Sunday evening in term time and some Sundays during the school holidays.

The Hub: for Key Stages 3 & 4

A lively group for debate, relaxation, social outings, art and music. A place to meet friends and
make new ones. The Hub has strong links with St Mary’s rock band, GBY( see below)
and together they participate in church services & events throughout the year.

Welwyn Tune

A lovely choir for children aged seven & up which meets in Church House Fridays 6.30-7.30pm.
Welwyn Tune sings once a month in the 9.30am church service and follows the Royal School of
Church Music’s Voice For Life scheme. The choir also participates in the annual church
pantomime, Welwyn Week and - has a lot of fun !.

GBY band:for Key Stages 3 & 4 (*Band meeting times vary*)

If you enjoy music and play an instrument then this is the band to join! The band has made a
successful CD, takes part in various church services, is involved in Welwyn Week and plays not
only hymns but also a wide variety of modern music!
