Lent Groups 2008

This year starting Sunday 10th February there will be a series of Lent Talks by Canon Iain Lane in St Mary’s New Church House at 7pm, directly after a shortened form of Evensong. Iain’s theme each week through Lent will be one of the incidents from the story of Holy Week, starting with the triumphal entry into Jerusalem and then the cleansing of the Temple, the anointing at Bethany, the Last Supper and the Garden of Gethsemane. The Lent Groups will then meet during the week to discuss the themes of the talks with the help of a range of resources: poetry, artwork, music and prose. The talks will also be available on the web site and in hard copy from the Church Office.

The groups start in the week of 11th February and continue for five weeks.
