HRH The Duke of Edinburgh
10 June 1921 - 9 April 2021

We remember Her Majesty the Queen and all her family in our prayers as they mourn His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh.

May he rest in peace and rise in glory

We give grateful thanks for the many years of devoted service he has given to our nation.

The Union Flag is now flying at half-mast on St Mary's Tower and will remain so until after the funeral.  On Saturday 17th April the seventh bell in the tower will be tolled half-muffled from 2.40 to 3.00pm.  The seventh bell is the oldest in the tower (1760) and has probably been rung on the death of every Monarch or Consort since installation.

Covid restrictions unfortunately prevent a physical Book of Condolence being placed in the church.  Instead if you would like to send your thoughts and reflections by email to hello@welwyn.org.uk we will collate and publish these in due course.  Alternatively or additionally, you can sign the Church of England's Online Condolence Book here
